"MAUST - On the 28th of April, in Summit Twp., Somerset Co., Pa., Abraham Maust, aged 91 years, 11 months and 5 days. Bro. Maust was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church over sixty years, although on account of his infirmities he had not attended public worship for many years. He was entirely blind for fifteen years and for the last year his hearing was very dull, so that he could only understand when spoken to in a very strong voice. The body was consigned to earth in the family grave-yard in Saulsbury, and the services were held in the Dunkard meeting-house by H.H. Blough and ____ Hochstetler from Heb. 4:9, 10."

"Otto. --- Amanda, daughter of Jonas and Barbara (Miller) Maust, was born April 9, 1872; died Feb. 18, 1940; aged 67 y. 10 m. 9 d. She was united in marriage to Daniel D. Otto Dec. 11, 1892. Three children preceded her in death, having died in infancy. She leaves her husband, 4 children (Lloyd, Cora, Roy, and Walter, all of Springs, Pa.; Roy, being a bishop in the Casselman Valley district), 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and 10 grandchildren. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour at the early age of 16 and was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church until death. Her pleasing personality many friends for her of all with whom she came in contact. Her chief interests in life were: first, the moral and spiritual welfare of her immediate family, and next she did all within her power to make her contribution to the spiritual welfare of her Church. She was confined to a sick bed for about 9 months and endured much suffering, yet without complaining. Her testimony from a sick bed has no doubt been an inspiration to many. Funeral services were conducted at the Springs Mennonite Church Feb. 21, by Roy L. Kinsinger and I. K. Metzler. Interment in the Springs cemetery."

"Gnagey. --- Catherine, daughter of Jonas and Barbara Maust, was born July 29, 1862; died at her home near Archbold, Ohio, Dec. 21, 1944, after a lingering illness; aged 82 y. 4 m. 23 d. On Oct. 29, 1882, she was united in marriage to Jacob E. Gnagey. She leaves to mourn her departure, 4 sons and 3 daughters (Irwin), Ridgefield Park, N.J.; Elmer, Archbold; Margaret Price, Archbold; Mrs. Arminta Ackerman, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Lloyd, Archbold; Homer, Norfolk, Va.; and Mrs. Velma Graber, Archbold), 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many other relatives and friends. Her husband, 3 sons, 2 daughters, and 2 grandchildren preceded her in death. She united with the Amish Mennonite Church in her early teens and was faithful until death. Funeral services were held at the Central Mennonite Church, conducted by Jesse J. Short and Henry Wyse."
